The renovation of the Lycée Henriette Dachsbeck and the Brand Whitlock Library in Brussels has a twofold purpose: connect the extension and the library to the historic building, and open the renovated Lycée over the city.

As its successive extensions progressed, the Lycée colonized its host island, its heart and its edges. Considered as a piece of town, composed of its poles of attraction, its main and secondary axes and its network of places, the extension offers a multiple, open and inclusive framework, allowing the student and / or the inhabitant / user to build themselves gradually throughout their lives (the school seen as a stage and not as an end in itself): a framework allowing the crossing of its different audiences in order to open the Lycée to the City but also the City on the Lycée.
